Dianne DeMille,Ph.D has written several educational books. She recently retired from over 40 years in public school education and is co-author of It Started with A Pencil: Memoir, Leslie B. DeMille, about her father and his career as an internationally renowned professional artist.
Larry Ray Hardin is a retired DEA agent after 30 years and currently teaches criminal law for students coming into law enforcement, runs his own private investigating business, and volunteers to visit with military veterans, law enforcement agents, and officers in hospice.
Randy Torgerson served in the United States Army and worked in law enforcement before working as a Private Investigator for Pearce Corporation. He continues to work as a Private Investigator in his own business.

Jeffrey Pearce & Jerry Pearce
Jeffrey Pearce was our friend and companion both during the Path of the Devil investigation and for all the years after. He was a courageous and unique man. He was honest to a fault by telling it as he saw it. Jeff worked hard all his life and there was much more to him than this one case in this book. Jeff was inspirational and forced those around him to be better than they were. We lost Jeff on August 24, 2020 from Covid-19 and underlying health conditions. We miss him and love him. Our prayers go to his family and friends. Stay safe my brother, my friend. You are at peace.
Jerry Pearce was Jeff and Randy’s boss and mentor. He was Larry’s friend and confidant. He was generous, a loving husband, and a hardcore leader. Jerry taught everyone around him many life lessons. He looked out for those who counted on him. He was stubborn at times, but he knew how to run his business. Because of Jerry’s connections in getting this case, we learned lessons that could otherwise never be taught. Jerry’s heart was huge even if you didn’t always see it right away. Jerry left us January 8, 2018 due to natural causes. Stay safe my mentor, my friend. You are at peace.
